SD's computer skills

Just few questions or comments or something on skills such as programming and stimsiming.

For starters, what are the programming languages of the future?  Do future prgrammers use C or something?  Is programming just like today, sitting there typing away on a keyboard, or does the wonder that is neural interfacing allow people to just think their code and it's there?

As for stimsiming, are there specific programs/tools, that people use to make stimsim game?  I can imagine that using such things would probably mean neural interfacing, to get the level of detail that you can't really get sitting in front of a screen.  Any thoughts, ideas, comments, answers would be nice.  I just got think about it and was wondering.

Very good questions.

You'll find a job listing or two ICly, looking for programmer types, I'm sure it would need to list what skills the applicant should have.

I've got a few questions concerning the SD computer world myself. Seems as how I'm new to SD as a whole. What exactly are the parameters for your computer use…Is it simlar to that of Shadowrun..?? As that is the only other CP game I've played, I have no other references to use. How does a player effectively implement his/her "decker"(???) skills?  What equipment does s/he need in order to do so.?? I know I know, they seem like simple questions to a SD vet, but an SD vet I am not. Just a few pointers is all I'm asking for. Other than the technical parts of this particular aspect of the game I have been able to succesfully RP with my character. The tricky part is when he gets asked about his skills and how he uses them.....thats when I gotta wing it.....and I just wanna know if I'm winging it the right way or not....just a little help is all I ask...thank you for your time spent reading this, and hopefully replying...
Well, I'll try to help ya. Mostly computers in SD are used on a prompt-like system. As for working and everything else you'll have either an in-game command or will have to RP it. Pretty simple until we can get our hands on the kinky stuff…
   Heh…..kinky stuff......sounds good......Uh..yeah, thanks man...That shouldn't be too hard.
Well, what I would like to know is what we have actually coded so far. I know that there are a few skills that aren't coded so if you jack them up they would be somewhat useless as to actually getting something done. I know that a good player would be able to just roleplay having high stats for something that isnt coded yet, but what do we really have as far as tech skills go? And is there actually anything as far as tech hardware that we can use? Cause I'm not sure…but I think someone has been hacking into the java kiosk and screwing with my coffee :paranoid:
