The world according to AI

While messing with GPT's I had the idea of copy and pasting room descriptions to see how it was perceived by AI. Granted, many AI hallucinations appeared, but I found many to be pretty well done.

Note: just posting a few common areas in public spaces. Nobodies characters, vehicles, etc were included in these prompts.

Oh so I am not the only one who does that? It helps me put together descriptions, as someone severely dyslexic, and sometimes the rooms are biiiig long paragraphs hah. Those are pretty close and sexy!
Oops. Left the manhole cover open, again.

This one made me laugh a little

I'll add two I really liked, public places ofc, I need to make few more:

One day I will maybe understand how does this place work:

https://postimg.cc/pyxP1Frg

They are far from perfect, but do capture the spirit.

Very cool. I enjoy how they aren't what I would initially see them as before I run the ai, but afterwards I'm thinking that I could totally see it as that.
Wow this is really cool. I might need to start doing this, I'm bad at visualizing. I have very vague images of what the streets in Red look like and they're not this cyberpunk in my head for some reason.
soz for double post but what websites do u use? and do u just copy paste descriptions into prompts or explain it to the AI?
@Valeth

We pay the evil corporations for a Chat GPT subscription (chatgpt.com) that I use for research at work. I think it's $20 a month but there are free versions. The GPT I used was DALL-E and all I did was copy and paste the description directly with the prompt of "Generate a cyberpunk themed image using the following description: (sindome room desc)" and it creates the image.

It started as just messing around and having fun with it but it has made reading room descriptions a little bit more interesting. Especially picking up where the AI hallucinates. All in good fun.

tyvm. prolly wont pay for a subscription to evilcorp (TM) but i might mess around someplace.
You're welcome! I'm not sure if paying for it gives you access to a better version or something but if you do the free one you have limited amount of prompts you can feed it before it asks you to come back later. Have fun!
The New Rose Hotel is inspired/lifted from the eponymous New Rose Hotel by William Gibson which is a quick read and has some pretty evocative aesthetics.
The New Rose Hotel is a coffin rack on the ragged fringes of Narita International. Plastic capsules a meter high and three long, stacked like surplus Godzilla teeth in a concrete lot off the main road to the airport. Each capsule has a television mounted flush with the ceiling. I spend whole days watching Japanese game shows and old movies. Sometimes I have your gun in my hand.

Sometimes I can hear the jets, laced into holding patterns over Narita. I close my eyes and imagine the sharp, white contrails fading, losing definition.

The coffins of New Rose are racked in recycled scaffolding, steel pipes under bright enamel. Paint flakes away when I climb the ladder, falls with each step as I follow the catwalk. My left hand counts off the coffin hatches, their multilingual decals warning of fines levied for the loss of a key.

I look up as the jets rise out of Narita, passage home, distant now as any moon.

I actually (sorta) like the Abel Ferrara film but it probably wouldn't hit the cyberpunk notes fans of Gibson would be interested in and the aesthetics are very different.

I really like that one, Mind. I always forget just how *big* Red Central is supposed to be.
I agree, Enven. Just playing around with these prompts kind of reminds me that we play in a large sector where aero vehicles can traverse the skyways above, which is complete with fake weather and large buildings. It is easy to lose sight of that.
These are sick as fuck! I still wish we had like a @image command that we could add links to GPT generated images for main rooms just to help people like me that can't really put text into a good visual in our heads.

These are so cool though, definitely better than anything I've generated!

The last one is amazing especially!

I will pop up an album later today, as I was generating quite a few locations and I think got the prompting right.

What I also started to do is player images, while I won't share those for obvious reasons, it's so damn nice to see players come to life, and point out what I missed from their descriptions as with dyspraxia my attention to text details is not perfect hah.

And yes, I play mu* for 25 years despite it :P

@Aida I like to generate my own images of my character to really help me get into a better vibe to play them, if that makes sense. I think the images of public areas also help me refocus into the mindset that these are crowded areas with more than meets the eye.

I typically just take the room description and copy it after the following prompt: "This is a room description for a cyberpunk themed Moo I play. Use it to generate an image. Take it easy on the neon." And it tends to spit out some nice graphics. If anyone has any better prompts please share!

Damn these are cool, I really liked the Drome shot in particular.
Think you could take a swing at Jah Love in Babylon?

The AI that sorts the network traffic?
