Go boards can be played with three variations of lines. 9 by 9 for beginners, 19 x 19 for intermediates, and 49x49. This means there are 81 intersections for a 9x9, and 361 for 19x19. We use the 19x19 currently.
I would love to play with the go boards, but teaching someone how to play with a 19 x 19, 361 possible intersections board, is nearly impossible. And a lot harder to visualize with our text based game.
A 81 intersection go game is extremely fun, low entrance requirement, and easily teachable, and can be easier on the eyes.
