Decker's manipulating electricity
Casting thunderbolt

After experiencing this multiple times in game, it is technologically possible in Withmore to remotely manipulate electrical infrastructure in such a way that a nearby electrical socket can produce an electrical arc capable of striking and damaging a specific person.

If this is an established capability of networked electrical infrastructure, I’d like to propose that sufficiently skilled deckers be able to do something similar. This could give deckers another way to interact with the physical environment through the Grid. It wouldn’t necessarily need to be powerful or universally available. It could require a room be scanned, appropriate electrical infrastructure (maybe not inside a vehicle), difficult skill checks, significant UE investment, and appropriate counterplay (maybe we start selling plastic outlet covers?)

More broadly, I think that if a technological capability exists ICly, particularly one involving remotely accessible infrastructure, there should at least be consideration of whether player characters specializing in that technology can interact with it. This idea came out of a related complaint I posted regarding the existing electrical-zap mechanic and its effect on immersion. Shocking People for a Word

I, for one, totally support this idea. I think it woukd be a cool way to give Deckers some offensive or defensive capabilities out in the wild.
