The new map is an SVG, built in layers, for easier updating in the future and covers everything that's on the timeline.
It is, as I said, interactive! You can zoom, in and out, scroll around, turn markers on and off, click to view more info, hover over timeline events to view them, and most importantly, view the world as it was at any specific year from 1995 to the current IC year. The map shifts and changes as the years progress until reaching its fully realized point in 2111 (or a future year if time has passed).
It offers some QOL features like a click to share link, in case you want to share a view of a specific part of the world, at a space date, with a specific set of filers. For example: 2060 with some zoom on the US
